I'm an Idiot and My Husband is Awesome

I did the dumbest thing today. I locked myself out of my house. Luckily, I had my cell phone with me. Also luckily, it was mild and sunny. My husband is so sweet. I called him and he immediately left work and let me in. He was even nice about it. I have a feeling he'll be teasing me later, though. I can't believe I did that. I guess I can't feel superior to my ditzy neighbor who constantly locks herself out of her house, anymore. It can happen to anyone.

If you aren't watching Cougar Town, watch last night's episode. It's the best so far. The only thing I didn't like was Alan Ruck's mustache. He'd been looking hot lately and that killed it for me. He's back to being the nerdy friend from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

ETA: As embarrassed as I feel for locking myself out of my house, at least I didn't pull a tampon out of my cooch on the internet. Thank you, Tila Tequila, for making me feel like less of a dumbass. I feel bad for her, by the way. I guess she'll be in rehab soon...Okay, now she's saying stress made her do it. Seriously? Stress will make you discuss the cleanliness of your cooter then show people your tampon? Attention whore.

Bowing

I can't believe people are upset that Obama bowed to the Japanese Emperor. I think a visiting world leader should always show respect to the leader of the country they're visiting. People are acting like he handed over the keys to the country. I'm not just taking this stand point because I really like Obama. I was equally happy when Bush held hands with the Saudi King. Does anyone seriously think that showing a little respect will make the US look weak? I think the rest of the world knows how much we like blowing things up. Bowing and shaking someone's hand isn't going to suddenly make other countries think the US is their butt monkey.

Dexter, Coffee Prince, Buzzer Beat

I haven't been all that crazy about Dexter this season, mostly thanks to the focus on his family life. This last episode has more than made up for the first few. For one thing, it had my girl crush, Christina Cox, as the bad guy. Loved the fight scene between her and Dexter. Shirtless Dexter was also a treat. I'm still not loving John Lithgow. He just isn't menacing enough. I feel like deep down he just wants to do people's taxes. That'll probably pick up, though.

I watched my first Korean show, Coffee Prince, and I loved it. I've been reluctant to watch any Korean shows because I've heard that they tend to have sad endings, but I don't think this one will. I'm not crazy about sad endings. Life is depressing enough. I want a happy distraction not another reminder that the world is filled with suffering. Back to Coffee Prince, I love the plot even if it is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the main guy will fall for the girl that he thinks is a guy. I can't wait to see how that plays out.

I watched the first episode of Buzzer Beat a few days ago. The thing that I loved the most about that show is that it is so obviously geared towards women. It's shamelessly objectifying men. At one point, the guys take their shirts off and compare chests...it's enough to make my inner feminist weep tears of joy. The romantic aspect of the show appears to have the potential to make me so sucked in, I'll have to say up into the wee hours to finish it. I pity my husband.

One more thing, apparently there are evil faeries on I65 that get their jollies by pelting my windshield with rocks. I've gotten 5 cracks in less that 7 days. I'm getting my windshield replaced tomorrow. Hopefully the faeries will leave me alone after that.

Friends

I've rediscovered my love for LJ, so I'm friending people I think I have a fair amount in common with or who have an attitude I like. I don't really have the time to waste on the internet but I'm going to anyway.

Completely Random Stuff

My favorite quote for today is from Marge Simpson: "you should listen to your heart, and not the voices in your head." I saw this on my current favorite blog http://onioppa.blogspot.com/ it's mostly about Naohito Fujiki who I'm loving right now.

Here's a clip of a rockin' baby skunk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6iT7Dl9SVA

In honor of Cougar Town, my new favorite show, here's a video of someone that is way younger than me, the super cute Kazuki Kato: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOieEN2ZqRc

FlashForward

I just watched FlashForward and I am pleasantly surprised. As long as they don't try turning what should be only one or two seasons into 5, it should be pretty good. I hope it doesn't become a giant pile of unanswered questions like Lost. That got old after one season.

I watched the first episode of Iryu last night and I really liked that, too. It's probably not very medically accurate, but it still grabs you. Most of the Japanese shows I've seen so far have very little affection of any kind so it was a nice change of pace to see a good sex scene. The moaning before you actually see the couple was the best part. After the music starts the scene turns into one of those sex scenes where it changes camera angles every 2 seconds. You see a shoulder, a back, a side boob, feet, a shoulder again...I hate when they do that. It's not sexy at all. My favorite part of the show was when he saved the woman using a pen. It has Kuranosuke Sasaki, who I love, but I have a feeling he's not going to be a good guy. I'll cross my fingers, though.

Just so you know, Southern Comfort is the best thing ever. HEHE

Stuff

I was reading through my old entries and noticed stuff about my nutty neighbor. We're no longer on speaking terms. I tried to keep things pleasant after the nightmare vacation but it just wasn't possible. Drug addiction is serious. If you find yourself heading down that path, immediately do something about it. Trust me, you don't want to wind up like my neighbor.

I watched The Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy last night and I'm pretty sure it actually killed brain cells. That's got to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. They put too much effort in making it gross and not enough effort in making it funny. I can't believe this is the same guy that does American Dad...love that show. Roger and Francine are too funny!

I missed the first episode of Gossip Girl and now I don't feel like I missed anything. I used to love the show but Rufus and Lily got boring and I always found Serena annoying. I'll miss Blair, but that's pretty much it.

I'm only planning on watching a few American shows this season. The only shows I watch now are American Dad, Psych, Leverage, Chuck, Heroes, Ugly Betty, Dexter, and Castle. It's too bad that shows that are original don't do well here. I guess a lot of people don't want to bother trying a show that sounds weird. People would rather watch 10 CSI's than try something new.

Japanese TV Shows

I just gave Boss two chances to not suck but it failed so I won't watch it anymore. I love Yuki Amami and Tetsuji Tamayama but they aren't enough to make the show watchable. It's a shame because I really wanted to like the show. The characters were too annoying and the plots weren't believable.

I didn't want to like Mr. Brain and I avoided it for a while but the first episode blew me away. It was smart, funny, and had really interesting characters. Takuya Kimura is quirky yet sexy in this. Then again, he's probably sexy in everything he does. He has a way about him. Haruka Ayase is cute as usual. Seeing her in Mr. Brain made me want to rewatch Hotaru no Hikari.

I finally watched the Absolute Boyfriend special and I was very disappointed. The thing that made the show so good was the romance between Riko and Soshi. The special made it look like Riko really loved the robot and only reluctantly went back to Soshi when she realized that a relationship with the robot wasn't possible. Soshi should've dumped her and found someone with two brain cells to rub together.

I finished Kimi wa Petto a few weeks ago and loved it. It wasn't perfect, though. I love Jun Matsumoto and I think he's a great actor, but it wasn't 100% believable that Sumire would chose him over Seiichi Tanabe. Seiichi is a man and Jun has the body of a prepubescent boy. Then again, since Sumire and Momo only had sex the one time and didn't plan on sleeping together again, she probably wasn't interested in having a "real" relationship with a man. That said, the show was sweet, funny, and surprisingly, had some sexy moments.

I'm in the middle of watching Brother Beat and I'm loving it even though the episodes are very predictible. In every episode, the two oldest brothers will fight each other or someone else then will somehow manage to screw up a relationship with a woman, the younger brother will cook something, and the mother will get drunk. The show's really funny and the guys are cute...that's enough for me. ;D

A little update on the brother in law situation - he's hanging in there but is still in pretty bad shape. Apparently he had several small strokes without realizing it. If they can control what's causing the strokes, he should be able recover enough to still have a mostly normal life.

Celebrity Crushes

Don't you hate when your crush on a celebrity dies? I had a crush on Joe Flanigan that lasted until I decided to stop watching Stargate Atlantis in the third season. Little glimmers of it still remained for a while. I really hoped he'd move on to something better so the crush would start up again. Over time I visited fansites devoted to him less and less. Today, I finally got around to watching his episode of Warehouse 13 and I couldn't have been less interested. I guess I'll still stay a member of the LJ comm devoted to him just in case he does something half-way decent but I think the crush is officially over now.

The upside to this is that old crushes are replaced with new crushes pretty quickly. Right now I'm liking Naohito Fujiki and Kuranosuke Sasaki. I guess as soon as I run out of good stuff of theirs to watch, I'll lose interest and start the cycle over again. Sometimes I envy people who have serious crushes on actors that never seem to end. These people are able to watch the biggest piece of crap movie or TV show and still think it's wonderful just because that actor is in it. Their lives must be much more entertaining than mine. I guess the downside is that these people seem kind of crazy. That would suck.

I just looked over some old entries and noticed that I said I liked Hung. I watched one episode and immediately forgot about it. I may try it again later but I'm currently wallowing in Japanese romantic comedies. Good stuff!

Eventful Week

Earlier this week, me and my husband went to Ft Walton Beach for a few days. That was fun. The water was beautiful and warm. The bunnies went on a hunger strike until we got back but now they're back to normal.

In the midst of our little vacation, we found out that my husband's brother was having health problems and refused to go to the hospital. I'll do a locked post on this later. You wouldn't believe the drama. Luckily, they were able to get my brother in law to the hospital and it looks like he'll eventually recover from an apparent stroke. I'm so relieved. High blood pressure is no joke, people. Get your blood pressure checked regularly.

Sleep

I used to fall asleep within 10 minutes of going to bed and I would stay asleep until morning. That was until I got married. Now it takes me about two hours to get to sleep. I normally wake up a couple of hours later and sometimes I'm not able to back to sleep until my husband goes to work. I hate to say this but I think it's time we got separate beds.

The problem is that he constantly moves around in his sleep. He has night terrors a few times a night and the rest of the time he's fidgeting or scratching or making some noise with his mouth. He also gets up at least 3 or 4 times a night to go to the bathroom. The funny thing is that he's actually more tired than I am yet technically he sleeps more.

It sounds like he's awake. I guess I should talk to him about this now.

ETA: I feel bad about talking about him on the internet. He's so sweet and considerate. He volunteered to sleep on the couch from now on. Instead, I decided to try and find better pillows. He said the ones we've been using have been making his ear hurt. That explains the fidgeting. I'll cross my fingers and hope this makes both of us sleep better. I really don't want to sleep in separate beds.

RIP John Hughes

John Hughes just died of a heart attack. I loved him. His movies got me through high school. I was picked on pretty badly but after seeing Sixteen Candles, I didn't feel like such a freak. That was the first time I really understood that there was life after high school. He will be missed.

More Japanese Stuff

Now I'm starting to like their music, too. Here's a clip of Naohito Fujiki at one of his concerts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDZQxZt05Sc Naohito was in Hotaru no Hikari which was awesome. I've probably mentioned it here before. The only problem with that show is the ridiculously bad english subtitles in the last two episodes. Luckily the acting is good enough that you don't need to understand everything that's being said.

I've got two episodes of Kimi wa Petto left. I almost don't want to watch them because then it'll over and I'll have no more awesomeness to look forward to. I know, once I'm done with this show, I'll happily be excited about another. Isn't it fun when you discover something new and wonderful that you never knew existed?!

Star Trek

I just saw the new Star Trek movie and I loved it. I'm not a hardcore Trekkie but I have seen all of the original series, TNG, and Enterprise and I was pretty satisfied with how they handled canon. I liked how even though it was an action movie, the focus was still on the characters. It looks like it's doing pretty well at the box office, so hopefully we'll get a bunch of sequels.

Coconut Cream Bun was discovered the windowsills, so now he's sharing his cuteness with the neighbors. He's so sweet. Bunnies are the best!

Happy Birthday [info]dreameaters. I better see a post on your LJ about the wild time you had. ;D

Obama's First 100 Days

I think President Obama is doing a fabulous job cleaning up Bush's mess. He gets an A+ from me. He'll have the country drivable in no time. I still can't believe Bush was able to screw things up so badly yet still get elected to a second term. Just imagine what things would be like now if we'd had 8 years of Al Gore instead.

Spring has sprung, finally. It seemed like winter was going to go on forever. Everything's so pretty and green and smells so nice. I've been spending a lot of time on my back porch lately. The birds and squirrels are starting to get used to me. :D

Soiled Eyes

I happened upon clip of a naked guy at Coachella getting tazed and now my eyes are soiled. First off, that is by far the tiniest penis I've ever seen and I've seen several newborns getting their diapers changed. Seriously, if you're that tiny, always wear clothes.

People aren't allowed to go naked in public here. It's the law. If you don't like it then start a movement with other nudists and try to get the law changed, but don't break the law and expect nothing to happen. Granted three large cops should've been able to arrest one high naked guy without tasering him so many times, but the dumbass should've put his wizard costume back on after about the tenth time they politely asked him to. I'd post a link to the the video but I don't want anyone that happens by my journal to walk away with that not so fresh feeling in their eyes.

Coconut Cream Bun

Even though I've kept the door to my bedroom open, Coconut has been too scared to go in. Today I decided to put him on the bed. That was an hour ago and he's still running around. The neatest place in the world is under my bed, apparently. It's cute now, but in a couple of hours when I'm trying to sleep, it's going to get pretty annoying.

Trivia About Me

1. I'm nicer on the internet than in real life. If you don't believe me, just ask the asshole Walmart greeter that insisted on looking at my receipt.

2. My all time biggest pet peeve is people who refuse to answer questions directly. I'm talking about you, Dish Network.

3. My bunnies can tell time. Yesterday, I grabbed my bunnies and put them in their pet carriers for their monthly toenail trim at the vet's office. Today, they all ran from me at the exact same time.

4. I never leave the house with dirty hair unless I'm in the middle of a big project and need to get something from the hardware store. Seeing a picture of Uma Thurman with obviously greasy hair made me think of this. If I were a celebrity, I'd never leave the house without clean hair and full make-up. I'd also never wear a bikini after getting badly done lipo.

5. I'm in better shape now than when I was in my twenties. By the way, your thirties are your best years(you still look good and your body still functions like it did when you were young), so just ride out your twenties and try not to end up in prison and you'll end up way happier than you thought you would.
